Here’s a simple plugin I whipped up with the help of Claude that makes it easy to make use of Stripe’s “payment_intent.succeeded” events using a webhook.
All you have to do is activate the plugin and then fill in the “Donation Receipts” settings fields.
Then it’s just a matter of pointing Stripe in the right direction and turning off Stripe’s built-in “Successful payments” customer email so donors aren’t double-emailed.
The result should be an email that looks something like this (with your choice of images obviously).
